Comprehensive Plan

The Town of Newcomb is in the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan. This will be a year long effort, conducted under the auspices of the Town Council and the Planning Board. The New Newcomb Comprehensive Plan, when completed, will be based on a thorough study and analysis of existing conditions, infrastructure, census characteristics, economic base, community services and facilities, historical and cultural resources, natural resources, and land use development. Included in the process to develop a new Comprehensive Plan will be a Public Visioning Process. A planning survey will be mailed to all town property owners that will focus on satisfaction with town services and conditions as well as desire for new or expanded services, as well as desire for land use and development changes. Key individuals and organizations in the Town will be interviewed, a Public Meeting will be conducted, and Goals and Objectives will be generated. The last time this type of exercise was conducted was in the late 1980s. By clicking on the link at left, readers will be able to see the existing Plan. This page will be updated on a regular basis so that citizens and others will be able to see the schedule of activities, the progress being made, and see when certain activities are scheduled ot occur.
